Michael Ihlein

Mr Ihlein is a highly experienced corporate and finance executive.  He is a director of Westfield Retail Trust, one of Australia's largest real estate investment trusts and head of the Audit & Risk Committee for that company.  He is also a director of CSR Limited, Australia's leading building products company.  He is also Chair of the Risk & Audit Committee and a member of the Safety Heath & Environment Committee of CSR Limited.  Mr Ihlein had a long career with Coca-Cola Amatil Limited (and related companies), where he was Managing Director, Poland (1995 – 1997) and Chief Financial Officer (1997 – 2004).

He joined Brambles as Chief Financial Officer in March 2004 and became its Chief Executive Officer in July 2007 until his retirement in November 2009.  He is an associate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, CPA Australia and a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He is also Chair of the Australian Theatre for Young People.  Mr Ihlein holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
