SELENA CHEYNE

Originating in New Zealand, Selena has a diverse background in the performing arts and has worked with children of all ages in many parts of the world.
After graduating from Queensland University of Technology with a BA in drama and music in 1999 she began working as a Gymboree Play and Music Leader and programme developer for 2 years in Brisbane.
She also acted in several theatre and short film productions.
She furthered her training with courses at NIDA, the Actors Centre (Sydney and London) and HB Studios in New York and is currently completing her Masters in Music Therapy at UTS. In the UK (from 2004-2006), Selena was employed as a Manager and workshop leader for Perform Media London, a company dedicated to improving the confidence and social skills of 4-8 year olds using drama, dance and music.
In 2007, she participated in the International Drama Educator's Association Conference in Hong Kong. Back in Sydney, Selena has developed and delivered regular drama workshops for atyp, Brent Street Studios and Kick Performance Group.
Selena now runs Popcorn Performance in Sydney - a company which provides after-school drama/music workshops and unique drama-based birthday party adventures for 4-8 year olds.
