SOPHIE KELLY

Sophie has also taught and directed at St Martins Youth Theatre in Melbourne, the Australian Youth Performing Arts Academy and has worked as an actor/mentor with The Old Van Company and The Page to Stage Youth Literature Program for the State Library of Victoria. 




Her performance credits include Motortown and Tattoo (Griffin Independent), Titus:The Ultimate Murder Ballad Musical (Darlinghurst Theatre), A Little Room, (Living Room Theatre), Hamlet and Measure for Measure (Complete Works Theatre Company), Terrorism (Theatre @ Risk) Black and Tran (Melbourne International Comedy Festival) and Romeo and Juliet (Old Van Theatre, Mildura Arts Festival). Sophie was the 2002 recipient of the Pratt Foundation Award and in 2007 she was invited to perform in the anniversary production of Jack Hibberd’s White with Wire Wheels as part of a festival celebrating 40 years of Melbourne Theatre.For the last three years Sophie has been touring her own one woman show Miriam and the Monkfish which she also co-wrote. The show has enjoyed several acclaimed seasons in both Sydney and Melbourne, including the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Fringe Festival and a highly successful season at the Old Fitzroy Theatre in Sydney. Sophie relishes the tutoring opportunities at atyp and enjoys working with young performers to help nourish and inspire a new generation of performance makers.
