Archives
The archives of any organisation are the records of the company's transactions, created by or for the company, which are considered to be important for the long-term operation and history of that organisation, and are collected and preserved for those purposes.
atyp Archives was established in 2003, with a professional archivist employed to work on surveying the records that have survived since the inception of the company in 1963, arranging and describing series (categories) of records, and making them and the information contained therein, available to researchers. When current records have stopped being referred to in Admin on a regular basis, atyp staff members deposit them in the archives for evaluation of their ongoing significance to the company. Depending on a number of criteria, the material is either preserved for posterity, or able to be disposed of.
Some examples of the many series of archival records in atyp Archives: Season brochures, c1982-, production programs, 1968-, advertising handbills/leaflets, 1983-, press reviews, 1971-, atyp newsletters, 1981-, production and workshops' photographs, 1964-. atyp Archives is open on Thursdays.
