ATYP UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
The new year brought new changes and a new Management team to
atyp. After five and a half years,
atyp bid farewell to Artistic Director, Timothy Jones, and in February we welcomed Fraser Corfield to the post.
Fraser, who was the Artistic Director of Queensland's leading youth theatre company, Backbone Youth Theatre, brings with him extensive experience and understanding of working with and in youth theatre. He also previously worked as Artistic Director for Riverland Youth Theatre and as the Associate Director of La Boite Theatre, and currently sits on the Australia Council's Theatre Board.
atyp is excited to embark on a new artistic journey and its next important phase of growth.
Fraser says,
It is an honour to be given the opportunity to lead this unique Australian company. I am looking forward to furthering atyp's reputation for providing young people across Australia the chance to work with some of our country's most respected theatre professionals.
Watch this space and all will be revealed this October!
In March
atyp also welcomed a new General Manager, Ange Cecco. Before joining
atyp, Ange was the General Manager at Griffin Theatre Company, and also worked as a Theatre Board Program Officer at the Australia Council.
Ange says,
I am delighted to be working in such an energetic theatre company that is providing firm opportunities and experiences for young people to become involved in and experience theatre in Sydney and in regional communities. I very much look forward to engaging with atyp's participants and will watch with great enthusiasm as many of the young people that have touched atyp go on to forge professional careers within the theatre industry.
