atypED's Devising Workshops include:
Devising – KICKING IT OFF
Dynamic, practical activities to demystify devising, and tools to empower your students. We outline the steps required to generate and select material, give tips for constructive team work and lots of reminders about using the elements of drama to devise like maniacs.
Devising - KILLING THE CLICHÉ
Following on from KICKING IT OFF, this workshop provides practical ways to stimulate original and complex narrative, develop structure and enhance characterisation. The workshop gives participants tools to match style and content, and enhance their awareness of how ensembles should effectively use physicality.
Script writing - A STRUCTURED APPROACH TO DEVISING
This workshop links the devising and writing processes. Through a range of practical exercises we examine how writers use improvisation to create and refine scenes and enrich both character and structure. Your students will learn concrete skills and an understanding of how good story telling is at the heart of devising and writing.
