THURSDAY 2 JULY
Verbatim Theatre
The Laramie Project, Run Rabbit Run with Kate Gaul and actors, then The Modern International Dead with Chris Mead and actors.
Featuring close discussion of the plays and genre, these inspiring practitioners will reflect on the process that shaped their own productions of the texts to provide insight, context and ideas for you to use with your students. Using actors, they will direct scenes from the plays giving you clear ideas about how verbatim theatre text is explored in rehearsal and realised in performance.
Each session will include a Q & A and teachers’ notes.
Designed to provide rigorous examination of verbatim theatre and the set texts, this day is a must for teachers tackling this HSC topic area.
Includes an open rehearsal of atyp’s young artists’ program at The Wharf from 7pm

Black Comedy featuring Ian Wilding’s October with Julian Merrick
Australian Indigenous Theatre featuring Seven Stages of Grieving, Stolen and Miracle at Cookies Table with Wesley Enoch
Featuring detailed discussion of the plays and genre, these Internationally recognised practitioners will reflect on their own experiences and the realisation of their productions of these plays. The discussion will provide insight, context and ideas for use in the classroom. Using actors, they will direct scenes from the plays as part of the workshop giving you clear ideas about how these theatre texts are explored in rehearsal and then realised in performance.
Each session will include a Q & A and teachers’ notes.
Designed to provide rigorous examination of the genre and the set texts, this day is a must for teachers tackling this HSC topic area.
Includes a ticket to the performance of Griffin Theatre’s Savage River by Steve Rogers 7pm.
When Friday 3 July 9:30am-5pm includes lunch. Then a 7pm performance of Savage River by Steve Rogers at Griffin.
