ADVANCED COMEDY WRITING with Chris Taylor

Chris Taylor, one of the stars and writers of The Chaser’s War on Every­thing, leads this specialised and intensive comedy writing workshop. This is a rare chance to work with The Chaser’s head writer, and to master the basic techniques of writing satire for the stage and screen. Through discussions and workshop exercises, Taylor will show you how to get the most out of your ideas, and how to push the boundaries of wit and good taste. Then learn how to apply your scenarios to performance, experimenting with the script, character and timing, to crystallise your material.

 

Please note that some prior experience in writing is necessary to receive maximum benefit from this workshop.

VIEWPOINTS with Lee Lewis

Join Lee Lewis, with directing credits across theatres including STC, B-Sharp, The Stables, Darlinghurst, as well as La Mama and Horace Mann Theatres in New York in this workshop on Viewpoints theory. This technique of improvisation concentrates on the physical elements of performance developed into the highly esteemed system of actor training by New York director Ann Bogart at the SITI Company. Explore, space, time, body and voice, in a physical way to discover new approaches to your performance and bring new dimensions to your relationships with other actors on stage.

 

Please note participants should not be carrying any current in­jury as the workshop will require intensive physical participation in order to receive maximum benefit.
