Under The Wharf

  • A launch-pad for young adult theatre makers

Under the Wharf is a platform to help emerging professional theatre makers help themselves. Established in response to feedback from artists in their first five years of practice, the program provides practical opportunities to apply theatre skills in the real world. Under the Wharf gives emerging professionals the chance to connect, discuss, share and learn through doing.

    Under the Wharf Productions

The Under the Wharf season presents three outstanding new productions selected by a panel of young artists. Each play is driven by a character under 26 and staged by an independent theatre company. The season provides companies the opportunity to present their work in one of the country’s most celebrated cultural precincts at minimal expense. For atyp’s audiences it is a chance to see outstanding new productions tailor-made for young adults.

    FONY 2013

By Ross Mueller and Georgina Capper

A play about the trolls we welcome into our lives.

Jennifer Lee became an overnight sensation for her Cyber Buddy Program. For some people it wasn’t enough. For four students who thought they knew her, an afternoon locked in a classroom will become the point at which their lives will change. Only the truth will set them free…

Social Media. Digital activism. Bullying. Trolling. Duck shooting. Shooting. Rumour-made-easy. How to be authentic in an anonymous world where you can be anyone you want to be.

FONY 2013 will make you laugh and make you think about crying without having to totally commit. It is presented by Courthouse ARTS as their first Ensemble Project for 2013, all the way from planet Geelong.
