ATYP’s The Actors Toolkit is back for 2014!
Designed specifically for 18 – 26 year olds, The Actor's Toolkit offers classes with industry professionals across four consecutive Saturday afternoons down at The Wharf.
You can pick and choose one or more of the Toolkit classes, or do all four - it depends on you and where you are at in your acting development.
One Actor's Toolkit session will cost you $350 (for four weeks), however if you book into more than one you can save $50 on each session after your first.
Each of the tutors are hand-picked artists and teachers, and are some of the best you will find in the industry. Classes are limited to 20. Grab your spot while you can!
Shakespeare - 16 Aug, 23 Aug, 30 Aug + 6 Sept
Tutor: Terry Karabelas
Terry Karabelas is the Co-Artistic Director of Sport for Jove Theatre Company, and an actor and director with numerous awards and nominations to his name. He has directed a dozen shows for Sport for Jove, performed in many more, and was recently awarded a Travelling Shakespeare Fellowship for Performance taking him to London, Washington and Staunton, Virginia.

Tutor: Jacob Allan
Jacob Allan is a graduate of WAAPA and has been seen on our screens on Packed to the Rafters, Winners and Losers, All Saints, City Homicide and The Secret Life of Us. Jacob has also worked with major performing arts companies Arena Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Black Swan Theatre Company and Darlinghurst Theatre Company.
Comedic Performance - 11 Oct, 18 Oct, 25 Oct + 1 Nov
Tutor: Darren Gilshenan
One of Australia’s leading theatre actors, Darren Gilshenan graduated from NIDA in 1988. His film and television credits include Chandon Pictures, Idiot Box, Dark City, Swinger, which was the winner of the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize, Full Frontal and Dossa And Joe (BBC/Granada), He also wrote, co-directed and starred in Derrick, for FOXTEL’s Comedy Channel. He has numerous television and film credits, including the international television miniseries Top of the Lake, and ABC’s comedy series The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting.
